Space Bunny Alpha Was an Early MiniMax M3.1 Flash

What MiniMax and OpenRouter say about Space Bunny Alpha, and how that preview differs from the model id the Spacebunny playground calls.

What MiniMax said

On 19 October 2026 MiniMax’s research post, “MiniMax M3.1 Flash: Redefining Agent Performance and Cost,” said Space Bunny — which had processed more than 200 trillion tokens while anonymous — was an early version of MiniMax M3.1 Flash. The same day’s official MiniMax account on X said the same thing and gave API list prices of $0.15 and $0.60 per 1M input and output tokens.

What OpenRouter says about the preview

OpenRouter’s Space Bunny Alpha page describes a stealth model with a 1,000,000 token context, text, image, and video input, text output, and a release date of 23 September 2026. The page says the stealth model was revealed to be MiniMax M3.1 Flash, that OpenRouter was not its developer, and that the free stealth period has ended. It points people to the MiniMax M3.1 Flash listing. This article does not claim the old stealth id still answers requests.

Preview versus the model this playground calls

  • Space Bunny Alpha was the anonymous preview. MiniMax later said it was an early M3.1 Flash.
  • The released model id on MiniMax’s API is MiniMax-M3.1-Flash.
  • spacebunny.me chat calls OpenRouter id minimax/minimax-m3.1-flash:free, not the stealth id.
  • The playground still caps a request near 100k tokens. That is a product limit, not the 1,000,000-token vendor window.
  • Weights: the research post says they will be released later. The X post the same day said 23 October. Those two official lines do not match, so this page does not pick one.

What this site is not

spacebunny.me is an independent playground with its own accounts and credits. It is not a continuation of the stealth listing, and it is not MiniMax’s site. Read the features page for the id we call and the limits we enforce.
